This work was painted in 1962 on a 20 x 24 canvas board. The painting features the view from Ina’s summer cabin high above the Little Blitzen Gorge in the Steens Mountain of Southeastern Oregon. The painting was first shown at the Carriage House in Cottage Grove, Oregon on December 7, 1962. Seven shows later it hung at the Crossroads Cafe near Lake Almanor (Susanville, California area). On Sunday, May 9, 1965 Neva Cross sold the painting for to a couple from Susanville who saw it in the cafe (Marion M and Beverly Beard, Susanville, CA). The current owner purchased the painting from Mr. and Mrs. Beard.
