This 24 x 30 canvas was painted in 1962. Ina signed the work in the lower right and dated it "62." The painting features the Little Blitzen river as it flows out of the mouth of the Little Blitzen Gorge in the Steens Mountain of Southeastern Oregon. The sheep were herded by Basques from Spain, who were often vistors at the Pruitt campfire for breakfast, bringing along their contribution, a tasty bit of mutton bacon. Ina painted this scene to illustrate a passage from the Bible, Psalm 23. It appeared in four shows between 1966 and 1967 and sold to Lynette Blogg on November 29, 1967. The current owner purchased the painting from Ms. Blogg.
