Broken Top Mountain in the McKenzie pass in the Cascade Mountains of Central Oregon is seen above this 1920's Heisler steam locomotive pulling old growth Douglas Fir timber at the beginning of its long journey to the sawmill. The subject was taken from a historical photograph. Painted at Ina's Leaburg, Oregon home on canvas over a masonite board measuring 24 x 30, it was signed in the lower left and dated 1959. It was shown 34 times, beginning at the Daniel Webster home, and in the show which followed at Meier and Franks Gallery in Portland, Oregon making it the most shown of all of Ina's works. Ina gave the painting to her son Leroy Pruitt in Leaburg, Oregon. The current owner purchased the painting from Mr. Pruitt.
